Nuura's parents fled Corvos upon learning of their pregnancy and deciding they didn't want their daughter born under Garlean rule. Landing in Ishgard, they sought refuge with a nobleman who was known for his tolerance, and took them into his home as craftsmen. Nuura was born in Ishgard and raised without seeing much of the world outside of the nobleman's halls. She was homeschooled and kept away from the public view as much as possible, due to her draconic features (similar to her parents). Little interaction with others from such a young age likely caused her parents to miss early warning signs of her "odd" nature, with them assuming it was something she would grow out of, and knowing they were doing the best they could with their circumstances.

Around age 8, Nuura would find her parents killed in a brutal hate-oriented attack on their home. She couldn't see the attacker clearly, but vowed to find them and exact her revenge, despite the strange emptiness she felt. Over the years, her desire would lead her to train discreetly under temple knights and eventually to the path of a dark knight when she would cross paths with an individual named Fray Myste. She confronts him, believing him to be behind the attacks on her parents. He instead shows her the truth, mentors her, and has her accompany him and his companions, seeing in her the same thing his old master saw in him.

When Fray is caught and killed in a trial by combat, Nuura's thirst for revenge grows and she begins acting recklessly. She kills with far less discretion and feels nothing for it, seemingly enjoying it. Sidurgu sees how dangerous she is becoming and that she pays no heed to his warnings to not "drink too deeply of the darkness", and decides she must be stopped. He confronts her on an outing in Coerthas, placing a sword to her neck. They clash, and she is killed with a stab through the abdoment, her body left in the snow.

Nuura finds herself in an unfamiliar place, covered in viscera with a tall woman speaking to her. This woman calls herself Achlys and states she's been watching over Nuura her entire life, and how excited she is they finally get to speak face to face. Achlys explains that she's a god from a past life, robbed of her power due to the sundering of the source, and that she's seeking Nuura's help in restoring this power because their souls are connected. She explains that Nuura's detached nature is due to her being meant for greater things, and that by killing her other 13 selves, she can achieve her full potential. Achlys promises to return Nuura to the realm of the living if they make this pact. Nuura agrees, and Achlys gifts her a tool that will help her in her quest, plucking out Nuura's left eye, and replacing it with one that allows her to see her sundered souls. Nuura's returned to the world of the living, barely clinging to life, where she is found by Isolde.

Accepting her new role and finding new solace in her sociopathic nature that allows her to kill with little remorse, Nuura regains her strength and works with Isolde and others to journey across the shards and kill her other selves.
